The tiranny of beauty

The tyranny of beauty investigates how mass media imposes narrow ideals of female beauty. The constant push to ‘perfect’ the body reduces women to passive objects, with celebrities used to reinforce the norm. To challenge this, I photographed everyday women as magazine covers.

The work was exhibited in London at Stolen Space Gallery (Truman Brewery), Apricot Gallery (Rag Factory), and St Margaret’s House.
